Civil & Commercial Mediation
Disputes can quickly become expensive, stressful and time-consuming.
Why Mediation?
Civil and commercial disputes can quickly become costly, distracting and difficult to manage. Mediation offers a confidential and practical way to explore resolution before matters escalate further. Affordable Support offers civil and commercial mediation for individuals, sole traders, small businesses and organisations looking for a confidential, structured and cost-effective way to explore resolution.
Mediation gives the parties an opportunity to discuss the issues with the support of an impartial mediator, consider practical options and work towards an agreement where possible. During the process, you are always in control. Whether the dispute involves money, services, contracts, communication breakdown or a damaged business relationship, mediation can help the parties step back, consider the issues clearly and explore whether agreement is possible.

📋How the mediation process works
1. Initial enquiry
We begin by understanding the nature of the dispute, the parties involved, the approximate value of the matter and whether mediation may be suitable.
2. Agreement to mediate
If the matter is suitable and all parties agree to proceed, a mediation agreement is issued. This confirms the basis of the mediation, confidentiality, fees and practical arrangements.
3. Preparation
Each party may be asked to provide a short summary of the dispute and any key documents needed to understand the issues.
4. Mediation session
The mediation takes place online or in person, depending on the circumstances. The mediator helps the parties communicate, identify the key issues and explore possible ways forward.
5. Outcome
Where agreement is reached, the key terms can be recorded. The parties may choose to take legal advice before signing any binding settlement agreement.
